I am making a bright quilt, and this is some of the fabric I have cut for it, only need a few more fat quarters to cut the squares, sew on 15 odd stars and I am ready to stitch it together :)

Because me and my fellow Monday volunteers are so awesome, we were given a bag of Bertie Beatles to share....or it could have been a thank you for cleaning up some really nasty messes!!!!!

I have decided to start a new patchwork project, because I really need a new project to do, and have so much spare time to do it in,. This is some of my Grandma's fabric I am planning on making a quilt from.
28 August-puzzle
I love doing jigsaw puzzles, but have decided that I really should go through mine, and get rid of any which I dont really want any more, or that are missing pieces. This is the first one I have dont while sorting them out, and it is missing 3 pieces, so out it will go!

What have I been up to?????
Ok so it has been a busy few months, where nothing much exciting (apart from the birth of my beautiful triplet nieces) has really happened. Much of the same old same old.
I work-about 5-6 days a week
I volunteer at an animal shelter twice a week. Once a week for a full day at the vet clinic, and once at the welfare cattery for a couple of hours before rushing off to work
My parents bought a new house, put ours on the market, and then after more cleaning than I care to remember, it sold, and I had to begin packing my life up
My brother and his wife welcomed 3 beautiful daughters into the world, Jahzara, Nayeli and Tahira
My other niece turned one
I am about to embark on 8 weeks housesitting for friends of friends
When I get some time I will try to find some photos to post, to keep the blog going. Perhaps I can take insperation from my Auntie and try to take at least one photo a day to put up.

Settling into home
So after being away for so long, it took a little bit to settle back into living back in Australia, and get used to not moving every two days or so.
So what have I been up to in the last month? I spent a couple of days catching up with mum and dad before they decided that they had had enough of me and went on a 2.5 week holiday (I feel really loved), caught up with my brother, sister-in-law and their beautiful daughter (whom I had not met as she was born while I was in Africa).
After a lazy week catching up with friends sorting out my room, I headed back to work where I seem to spend every day, and back to volunteering at the Animal Aid. There never seems to be enough hours in the day or days in the week to get everything done, where does all the time go????

Back in the land of Oz
After 9.5 months, 3 continents, 31 countries, and one hell of an awesome holiday, I finally arrived home Tuesday morning a 6.30am, a nice early morning for my parents and grandma who came out to pick me up.
Over the last 9.5 months I have been happy, sad, scared, excited, overwealmed, amazed, lost, confused, angry, annoyed, injured, awestruck, lonely. It has been the hardest, most exciting, interesting remarkable holiday I have been on, I have met the most amazing people, seen some truely unbelievable sites, been hot airballooning, dog sledging, skiing, driven on the wrong side of the road (for us Aussies), walked with Lions, been locked in a car with a cheetah, fed vultures, had so many delays. At times I have wanted to give up and jump on the next plane home, but the final destination (when I eventually get there) has always been more than worth it.
The experiences I have had, the sights I have seen, cannot be done justice to with words, to truely understand they must be seen. They say a picture says a thousand words, but the experience in getting those pictures are priceless.
What does the future hold for me now.....I head back to work after a weeks rest and relaxation, to slave my guts out so I can save as much money as possible so I can head back on my next adventure as soon as possible.
