After traveling to Africa for 3 months volunteering, then backpacking Europe for 6 months, I headed home to save like mad, and am now back in Africa studying Field Guiding so I can share my passion with others.

Cape Town
Ok so it was a bit frantic before I left, with packing up my room, going out to farewell dinners etc, and actually packing my bags to take with me, but I have finally made it to Cape Town!!!! Oh the excitement. It is cold, windy, Table Mountain remained hidden behind a wall of cloud for the half day I have so far been here (not sure it actually exists, havent seen it for proof), but I am loving it, my adventure has begun!!!! Just spent the afternoon wandering around the waterfront yesterday, trying to orientate myself, and in a sleep deprived, jet lagged state I wasnt up for much more. I did go to the Cape Medical Museum, which was quite interesting, only small but had a lot of information in it on the history of diseases, as well as some rooms set up as they would have been back in the day-quite scary looking!

All I saw of Table mountain all day

Glad you made it safely, and survived the packing, parties and fond farewells. Now, enjoy your new adventure, and I look forward to reading about them. Margaret.
